William Whitworth estimated a cost of £62,000 if the canal terminated at Swindon wharf or £60,000 if terminated at Eastcott.

The final decision was to terminate from Eastcott so this map route was not constructed.

The estimated cost of the Bristol Junction is not known, but it would have been a difficult and expensive line to build, involving some 70 locks.
